The Foundation provides personalized attention and confidential assistance to individuals throughout East Tennessee. 

Services are not limited because  of age, severity and/or type of seizures.

Contact the Foundation staff for more information on the services provided, including:

 

  • Up-to-date information and educational materials, available at no cost, focused on both the social and medical aspects of epilepsy; see below for a partial list of available items;
  • A lending library of videos, books and other material on Epilepsy; see below for a partial list of available items;
  • Community referral services which allow the Foundation to assist individuals in locating additional community resources, including assistance with legal, medical, vocational, transportation and housing issues;
  • Seminars and conferences with expert speakers to highlight current issues for individuals with epilepsy;
  • Support group and support service programs which provide contacts and community networks for individuals with epilepsy and their families; (Support Group meets every 2nd Tuesday at the Foundation office located at 1715 Magnolia Avenue, Knoxville TN 37917)  We also have a Support Group in Northeast Tennessee - call us for details. 
  • Pharmaceutical assistance programs which help individuals to locate and/or obtain discounts on prescribed anti-epileptic medications;
  • Limited financial assistance, available on a case-by-case basis, to individuals with fixed income;
  • Individual and group information sessions for seizure patients and their families;
  • Volunteer opportunities for individuals interested in promoting the Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee through fundraising, community awareness, public speaking and communications;
  • Need-based camp scholarships for children with epilepsy.
