All community community services are provided free of charge to create awareness of and understanding about epilepsy throughout East Tennessee.

Community education continues to play an important role in the work of the Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee. Over 2.3 million Americans are diagnosed with epilepsy or seizure disorders. Of those, over 42,000 live in the 24 counties we serve in East Tennessee.

  • School Alert programs are designed to educate school personnel and students of effective ways to detect and cope with epilepsy, both in the classroom and the community at-large. Classroom and in-service presentations are available free of charge to all schools, both public and private, throughout East Tennessee. School Alert presentations are informative and appropriate for all ages and grade levels;
  • Professional  programs are designed to educate community leaders, including law enforcement officers, health care professionals, business professionals and social service providers and are great for day care facilities or civic clubs (We are DHS approved); 
  • Participation in local health fairs and community events increase awareness and encourage understanding and education about proper Seizure First Aid.
